About the product

Is Cenkali a bank?
No. Cenkali is software for running blockchain-based savings circles. There are no bank accounts, no deposit insurance, and no FDIC protection.
Is the yield guaranteed?
No. Yield comes from Aave V3 and is passed through to circles. Historically that has been 3.5–7% variable APY on Base, but it moves with the market and can fall.
Does Cenkali hold my money?
No. The protocol is non-custodial: smart contracts execute the rules while you keep control of your wallet keys.
Is it available now?
Not with real money yet. Cenkali is pre-launch — but a live, invite-only testnet preview is running on Base Sepolia with test funds, so you can walk through a full circle before real money is ever involved. Join the updates list to hear when circles open.
Where will it be available?
At launch, Cenkali will not be available to residents of New York or the European Union. We'll expand as the rules in each place become clear.
How does Cenkali make money?
Planned protocol fees for the real-money product: 0.75% of contributions and 15% of the yield a pool generates. Nothing is charged on the testnet preview.

About the circles

What is a tanda?
A tanda is a savings circle among people who trust each other. Each member contributes a set amount every round, and each round the whole pot goes to one member, until everyone has had their turn. It is one of the oldest ways communities have saved together, and it runs on trust, not paperwork.
What happens if someone misses a payment?
Every circle keeps a small reserve pool inside the contract. If a member misses a payment, the reserve can cover the gap so that round’s payout still goes out on schedule. The reserve is limited and rule-bound, not insurance: it is not a guarantee against every loss, and the circle’s rules decide what happens if the reserve runs out. Everyone sees those rules before joining.
Which wallet do I need?
You don’t need to bring one. You sign in with a code sent to your email or phone, and a wallet is created for you on your device by Privy, the wallet provider the app uses. You control it; Cenkali never holds your keys. Nothing to install.
Why USDC?
Circles settle in USDC, a dollar-denominated stablecoin, so the amount everyone agreed on holds steady between rounds. One stable asset, no volatile tokens in the pool.
Can I invite people who have never used an app like this?
Yes. Cenkali is simple, easy and quick to use. It runs in your web browser, so there is nothing to download. Your guests sign in with a code sent to their email or phone, and they are in. Invitations come in English or Español, in plain words with no jargon.
When do circles open?
We are not announcing a date yet. Join the waitlist and we will email you when invites start rolling out, circle by circle.
